However, given their position as an Extra Deck monster, “Clara & Rushka” provides some valuable uses in Decks that try to mix up options. With no ATK to battle and no effects or arrows to improve our field, “Clara & Rushka” easily seems a waste of a Link Summon given their limitations. Overall as long we can save our Normal Summon for the Main Phase 2 there’s no difficulties to summon this Link Monster, but if needed we can use cards like “Mind Control” to steal an opponent’s monster which was Normal Summoned.

Some potential materials can provide effects to further improve our setup and even prepare several summons along “Clara & Rushka”, starting with “Tin Goldfish” or “Summoner Monk” coming along other monsters to then “Junk Synchron” and “Masked Chameleon” reviving targets from our Graveyard. Any monster we Normal Summon from our hand will be enough to follow with the arrival of “Clara & Rushka”, while working with a Set monster is a slower approach as we must Set it first (By spending our Normal Summon) to then be flipped in one way or another. The summon of “Clara & Rushka” is quite easy for any player given only requires a Normal Summon or Set, although unfortunately unavailable if we start the Duel given the first turn has no Main Phase 2. On the bright side, some particular traits of the Link Monster makes them provide some interesting interactions that, despite not as effective as other Link Monsters, makes them a valuable choice for some small yet strong setups arround them. With no effects whatsoever, no ATK, and their single arrow pointing towards the opponent, “Clara & Rushka” are far from being a valuable choice in many Extra Decks. Despite being a Link-1 monster they can only be brought using a Normal Summoned or Set monster, and only doing so exclusively on Main Phase 2. “Clara & Rushka, the Ventriloduo” is a package full of flaws and drawbacks that makes players question their debut’s rarity. While not as powerful as more popular choices, these cards might carry limitations on their uses for some good reason players need to figure out. However, while is still easy to manage cards under those conditions, there are some cases that is questionable their drawbacks when their performance isn’t that outstanding.

From cards shutting down our options for the rest of the turn, to the more recurring once per turn clause in current releases, this clearly tries to keep powerful effects at bay from overtaking the whole game. Many cards will carry certain demerits and restrictions to balance out their efficiency. Cannot be Link Summoned, except during Main Phase 2.Ĭan Be Found In: Extreme Force (EXFO-EN049)
